Plans for annual leave - Karkonosze

During all summer I had to work watching how my colleagues are going for their annual leaves. Painful as it was, I knew that when they had long forgotten their two weeks off, I would just be preparing for my summer holidays. I love this feeling when the best is still ahead of me.
Planning the annual leave wasn’t easy. The most difficult part was to choose the destination. My husband and I have considered the south of Italy or Crete, but when we were just about to buy plane tickets, I started to hesitate. Southern Italy is very expensive and trip to Crete was not cheap, either. As we are planning to buy an apartment next year, financial argument turned out to be crucial, and in the end we decided not to go abroad this year. Instead, we are going to Szklarska Poręba (in the Karkonosze Mountains), where we are going to climb Śnieżka and Szrenica, as well as take one-day trips to Prague and to Saxon Switzerland.
The weather forecast is not looking bright – most probably it will be quite cold. However, until there is no rain, I can accept the cold.
We have booked a room on booking.com and then it was time to start thinking about how to get there. We had three options: car, bus or train. As my car is not economical for high-speed drive and it is a serious challenge to start it when going uphill, the decision was easy – public transport. From Warsaw to Szklarska Poręba we are going by train (with one train change in Wrocław), and we will come back to Warsaw by direct night bus.
I can’t wait!
